Life After HDTV Home Theater Installation

By

We had cable TV.  We had a nice Sony television set.  We subscribed to Netflix.  What more did we need?  The technology geek in our home wanted a big flat panel HDTV home theater system.  He got what he wanted.

I genuinely did not believe my television experience would improve much after we ditched our Sony and installed a plasma TV with those new super duper surround sound speakers but I was so wrong.  The difference between watching television on our old Sony and watching the same movie on our new 50” HDTV plasma display with a sophisticated receiver, Blu-ray, high quality acoustics and Apple TV is enormous.

There is now more emotion present with our TV watching.  The emotion includes feelings we get from watching superior photography.  It’s as if we are seeing the real movie for the first time.  The picture embraces all our senses, audio, visual, kinesthetic.  I can’t describe it because it’s something you have to experience.

After doing a great deal of research, we bought a large Pioneer brand HDTV that we purchased at a great rate online.  We designed and installed a lovely frame for the screen and placed it all in an inset place on a wall in our den.  The frame we installed ourselves matched the theme of our contemporary home.  Here’s a picture of the finished flat panel TV installation and you can get some idea of how it looks.

The black frame around the TV monitor is grille cloth or speaker cloth.  I think it looks outstanding.  It provides ventilation to all that high quality equipment behind it yet provides a screen that we can’t see through. Our focus can be just on the TV itself.  Here’s a photo of what it looks like behind the grille cloth.

Our life after HDTV is now filled with a lot of movie watching.  Netflix is one of our favorite companions to make sure we continue to get the best viewing experience out of our home theater.

If you are thinking of upgrading your TV experience to include building and installing HDTV systems, just do it!  And let us know which movies on Netflix you like best.
